Another Option, Another Way What can kinesiology offer the public? Where is kinesiology going in the future? By the time many clients make their way into my clinic they are usually tired from trying so many therapies, seeing so many practitioners yet they still find themselves with similar patterns of behaviour or still presenting the same physical problems. By this time they are really looking for another answer or solution to their problem. What message does kinesiology send to the public? Many kinesiologists advertise conditions that they deal with or that kinesiology as a modality helps. For example it may be written that kinesiology helps with the following conditions:
Kinesiology is a very special modality. Special in such that it often does help people with named diseases but without a specific protocol. Any two people can present the same set of symptoms, but they will have their own unique way of manifesting them. It can never be the same for any two individuals. As unique as their genetic make up and their personality is so is the creation of their state of dis-ease or imbalance. I often find people calling for an appointment because I helped their friend who no longer has chronic fatigue or no longer suffers from chronic hay fever symptoms at the same time every year. These people call with an expectation that it will clear or heal their chronic fatigue or hay fever also. Their friend claims kinesiology did it, kinesiology was the solution. This is where the education really needs to take place. Kinesiology indeed is what is used to help the person access their own innate healing power thereby redirecting energy to do what it does best more effectively. This is healing. We always strive to do our best with whatever resources we have available to us. Our bodies do this on a biochemical level all the time. Let us consider the liver. It is always working hard to detoxify, even after continuous abuse from alcohol, coffee and cigarettes, or even after half of it has been removed after physical intervention of surgery, the liver will regrow new cells and be of mature size within 3-4 weeks. We can all seek an answer, yet essentially the answer will only come from within. It will only come from our authority, not anyone else's. Yes, we can gain knowledge and some understanding from the information others provide but essentially we have all the answers. For this reason we leave the ego (as practitioners) at home before we go to work at the clinic. Our ego can only guess at the number of possible things that can help any individual. This leaves too much guess work in finding a solution and is still a symptom based model, not leaving room for the unique way in which every clients manifest imbalance. Leaving our ego at home makes it much easier to find solutions. Kinesiology helps retrieve these answers. By accessing our innate intelligence that knows more than we are aware of (this is done via muscle monitoring - getting feedback from muscle responses), we are lead to what the person needs for themselves at any given time in relation to whatever context or area they require help in. This help may be nutritional, emotional, mental, physical or energy.
