RICHARD DUREE
Richard Duree is an internationally known educator, author, lecturer, counselor and Professional Specialized Kinesiologist. He served for six years as an executive board member and the Research Director for the International Association of Specialized Kinesiologists (IASK). He is a co-founder of The Institute of Applied Neurogenics.
During his 25 years in the field of specialized kinesiology Richard has also served as the head of Research and Development for Dr John Thie Dc, creator of the Touch For Health Program. He acted as an Instructor Trainer for the Touch For Health Foundation with Shanti Duree and co-creator of the One Brain System with Gordon Stokes. Richard also worked for many years with Olympic and other world class professional athletes under the direction of Dr Leroy Perry DCof the International Sports Medicine Institute, Los Angeles. At the Renaissance Clinic in Nassau, Bahamas, he researched the effects of muscle balancing on stress and aging under the direction of Dr Ivan Popov MD. Along with his partner Shanti he teaches numerous kinesiological programs and other workshops dealing with health, relationship, human development, communication and ecology. When not on the seminar circuit or involved in research, for himself or other authors, Richard maintains private practices in Santa Barbara California, Ashland Oregon USA, and Bamberg Germany.
SHANTI DUREE
Shanti Duree is an internationally known educator, author, lecturer, counselor, hypnotherapist and Professional Specialized Kinesiologist. She served for five years as an executive board member of the International Association of Specialized Kinesiologists (Vice-President). Shanti is a co-founder of Institute of Applied Neurogenics. During her 22 years in the field of specialized kinesiology she also trained as a Gestalt Movement Therapist under Dr Pauldi Orlando. Shanti served as an Instructor Trainer for the Touch For Health Foundation where she team taught for many years with Gordon Stokes, co-creator of the One Brain System. Shanti co-created and directed the Physical Therapy Center in Mill Valley, CA.
Her background includes training in massage therapy, Ortho-bionomy, Reiki, yoga, Polarity Therapy, NLP and women's studies. She worked with Dr Ivan Popov MD. at the Renaissance Clinic, Nassau Bahamas, where she studied the effects of muscle testing on stress and aging. Shanti has made an extensive study of shamanistic practices working with Lynn V. Andrews and other shaman healers. Along with her partner Richard she teaches numerous kinesiological programs and other workshops dealing with health, relationship and human development. She also has private practices in Santa Barbara California, Ashland Oregon, and Bamberg Germany.
THE INSTITUTE OF APPLIED NEUROGENICS
The Institute of Applied Neurogenics is an educational institution dedicated to producing the highest quality innovative educational programs possible with a focus on healing, personal awareness and the environment.
The Abdominal Brain (Davis Reflexes) DNA Series
The origins of the Basic Abdominal Brain Series come from the pioneering work of Dr Terence Bennett and his development of neurovascular dynamics. This system, backed up by over 45 years of clinical use, shows that touch contact on specific areas of the body can produce changes in blood and lymphatic flow affecting all the cells.
Dr Floyd Davis DC, was a student and colleague of Dr Bennett further advanced the neurovascular dynamics techniques over the last 50 years to include the ganglia of the autonomic nervous system, cerebrospinal fluid flow and their effects on cellular information systems, vascular dynamics, and physiological processes in general.
Richard and Shanti Duree developed the Abdominal Brain - DNA - (Davis-Duree Reflexes ) after Dr Davis bequeathed his system and records to the Institute of Applied Neurogenics to continue his work. After extensive research with
Dr Davis, Richard and Shanti Duree integrated Dr Davis’ system with new developments in the area of mind/body interaction and advanced the techniques into a working specialized kinesiological system. When combined with the Applied Neurogenics style of learning it creates a unique mix of experience and information. People involved in health, Applied and Specialized Kinesiology, natural healing or their own healing process will find these programs especially intriguing. These programs are presented in a style that appeals to the lay person and health professional alike. Even though techniques are easily learned the Abdominal Brain - DNA - Series is not beginning entry level program and is recommended for people who are Specialized Kinesiologists, other health professionals or lay persons who are actively involved in their own personal healing.
The Abdominal Brain System balances the autonomic nervous system in relationship to the perception of sensory input. By normalizing sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system functions, we can change dis-ease patterns and alter responses to state-dependent memories. In DNA 1, the beginning workshop in the series, participants learn the basics of the Abdominal Brain - DNA - System, which has more than 45 years of use in clinical practice.
These programs are taught using the Applied Neurogenics Enhanced Learning System. This system uses a multi-sensory approach to education that facilitates the learning process by honoring the fact that different people have different learning styles and by focusing the information provided to match each style. Students find that they learn with little or no effort. Scientific lecture, experiential exercises, visualization and hands-on practice are blended to create an experience that imprints the information into the students’ memories. The workshops give participants a highly useful and effective system that they find satisfying.
